Expressing Your True Self

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.”– Dr. Seuss

Do you ever feel like you have to mask or disguise the “true you”? I’m talking about feeling completely comfortable in your own skin and accepting yourself for all of your strengths AND weaknesses. It can be very difficult to express our true selves. There is so much pressure to conform to the expectations of others, to not appear foolish, to do things that will impress other people.

This quote from Dr. Seuss is one of my all time favorites because it reminds us of one of the most important aspects of life… BE YOURSELF. This means showing your true colors in all situations. It meansacting wild and crazy even when others look at you funny. It means calling someone out when they need to be called out and being prepared for the ramifications. There is no truer sense of freedom then when you can 100% express yourself, your opinions and your true feelings. Make today all about sticking to who you are and letting the world see it!

Acting In Spite Of Fear

“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do” — Eleanor Roosevelt

People generally fall into one of two categories when it comes to fear. They either acknowledge and face their fears or they deny and hide from their fears. The people in the first category are people who truly understand growth and how to get the most out of life. They see each fear as an opportunity to transform their life and reach new levels of success and consciousness. The people in the second category often resort to living a huge chunk of their life doing things that they hate. A crappy career, bad relationships, poor health and so on. They are unwilling to address key fears that are holding them back.

You are a category one person. I know this because you are reading this message right now. My goal today is to remind you of this discussion. Perhaps you have been hiding from some of your fears.Maybe you are currently being held back from a personal breakthrough because you are scared.Make today all about committing to the breakthrough DESPITE any level of fear. Focus on the gain and the positive outcome. You can do this.

Working On Your Passions

“If you feel like there’s something out there that you’re supposed to be doing, if you have a passion for it, then stop wishing and just do it.” — Wanda Sykes

Wishing and dreaming versus action and implementation. That is one of the key distinctions behind this program you are going through now. Many people who do personal growth programs simply stop at the dreaming phase. They think about their passions, their ideas to change the world, to improve their lives and then they read another book about motivation.

You are different. You understand that dreamers and doers are different people. You can strengthen your habit of being a “doer” each and every day by the actions you take. My challenge to you is simple. Before you go to bed tonight, take 1 bold action in the direction of your major passions. Whether it is working on a new business plan, a new charity, an event you want to run, a trip you want to take.. do it!

Then, starting tomorrow, you do it again and you commit to doing it for the rest of your life. Why? Because it is your passion and this is what you were born to do. When will there be a better time?

Overcoming Obstacles

“Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome.” — Booker T. Washington

Every successful person that you can find has overcome enormous odds and obstacles. In fact, there would absolutely no inspiration in the stories of successful people without it. You are no doubt facing a mountain of obstacles in your life right now. New challenges show their faces almost daily. The obstacles tend to grow in proportion to the size of your goals.

If you have a massive life goal you are working towards then you are likely facing massive obstacles. The people around you very likely don’t have as big of a goal as you… so you may feel alone throughout this process.

Take some time today to research and learn about people who are like you. Successful people who have overcome major obstacles on their road to victory. Remind yourself that if they can do it, you can do it. This is the winning attitude that will take you to the heights you are dreaming of today.

Making Changes For Your Own Happiness

“No one is in control of your happiness but you; therefore, you have the power to change anything about yourself or your life that you want to change.” — Barbara de Angelis

True happiness eludes many people in our world today. In fact, if you look around you, it ismuch easier to find people who are depressed, lonely, frustrated, scared or complacent. They have lost their zest for life. What’s worse is they have forgotten about the basic truth contained in today’s quote. THEY are the ones in control of their happiness (or lack of it)

Each and every one of us contains the amazing power to change our life at any time we decide todo so. We have to constantly take an inventory of what is working and what is not working. What areas of your life have you been neglecting? Can you identify some areas that require improvement? My guess is that you can if you are honest with yourself. Use today as a day to exercise your true power. Make a major change today that you know you have been putting off. Whether it is confronting someone who is making you unhappy, confronting a habit that is harming your health or maybe even changing the way you treat the important people in your life. Whatever it is, you have the power to make it better… so use that power.
